Remember How Blessed You Are

As I sit in the quiet of this beautiful morning, watching another dazzling sunrise and listening to my baby coo those first morning sounds, I am thankful to be alive. Today is 9/11, the anniversary of the day America was attacked by terrorists. I think we can all remember where we were when we heard the news, turned on the tv, and stared in disbelief at the footage we saw. It was a defining moment for all Americans.
What I remember most about the tragic events of that day was how Americans came together in prayer and relief efforts. There was such an infectious display of hope and help that if you weren’t involved in aid yet, you wanted to be.
Part of that process was prayer. America needed God to heal her, and she prayed fervently. As you reflect upon those horrible events and remember where you were when you heard the news, remember how fervently you prayed.
Now do it again.
Pray for the families of the victims who died that day, 12 years ago.
Pray that evil will be overcome with good.
Pray that America will be the strong defender of liberty that her founders so carefully designed her to be.
Pray a prayer of thanksgiving for your life, your loves ones, and all the blessings our Creator lavishes upon us on a daily basis.
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21 ASV)
